Default Tongue Hemangioma go away???

I am currently 20 yrs old and have had a hemangioma on my tongue the last few years, since i was bout 17 or 18. I have gotten used to it now and have seen a specialist who said to leave it be for now as long as it is not bothering me. Their treatment was to inject it with pure alcohol and shrink it but there was a chance that I would develop a lisp from it and have to take speech therapy classes after. Do these things normally go away on their own? especially at my age??
