Default What is it?

Thank you all for being here, I would be climbing the walls without you! I have learned so much through your experience! Thanks for being here to share your strength and hope with those of us who need you!

2 weeks ago after a fever of unknown origin, my 4 y/o son developed a purple, swollen tongue, on the left side only. Nothing we do seems to make it any better. His bloodwork all checked out normal. Yesterday we saw our chiropractor and our son is getting acupuncture and nutritional therapy while we are planning to see Dr Waner. Our chiro feels this may be a h or a VM. How do these things form? He was fine before, we don't quite know how this happened.

How do I post pictures to the board?

It seems to change daily, sometimes it's more red or blue, at other times it looks more mottled than others, and today it's a tad on the yellow side. My son also is starting to look frail to me, he sometimes gets a lot of nosebleeds, so I'm concerned that he may have lesions internally as well. Any thoughts?

Have any of you lived with tongue lesions like this? Do you have experience that would put my mind at ease? I always jump to the worst conclusion first and so I have envisioned partial to complete amputation, or tube feedings and tracheostomy... I can't think if a worse place than the oropharynx or airway for something like this.

How much will this affect his speech? He's extremely verbal, loves to tell stories and talks to everyone non-stop. Before this showed up he already had some minor speech difficulties and gets so frustrated when he's misunderstood...

My prayers go out to all of you in your struggles to find a cure! Thanks in advance for your kind replies and thanks so much for being here!
