Canada Shines Through the Eyes of a Teenager on the Verge of Blindness in Tabitha's Journey, Dec. 9 on CTV

A CTV Original Documentary, Tabitha's Journey follows the emotional
cross-Canada journey of 18-year-old New Brunswick teenager Tabitha Dunphy and her father Steve, who gives up everything to fulfill his daughter's wish to take an odyssey across the country before she loses her sight. The one-hour documentary premieres Saturday, December 9 at 7 p.m. on CTV (check local listings).

Tabitha Dunphy was born with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, a condition
characterized by serious neurological abnormalities. In 2005, doctors gave the New Brunswick teenager the devastating news that she should prepare for early blindness. Her father offers his daughter a wish of her choice and Tabitha chooses to see her native Canada while she still has her sight. Steve sold everything he owned, including his home, to buy an RV and fulfill Tabitha's dream. Their trip captured the attention of media across the country.

Tabitha's Journey follows their emotional trip from New Brunswick to the coast of British Columbia, capturing the ups and down of their unique relationship and their personal crises. As they start out, they are determined to find a new life on the West coast, but at the end of their life-changing journey they both realize that home in New Brunswick is where they want to be.

Tabitha's Journey is a production of Pederson Productions, in association with CTV. Producers are Jon Pederson and Mark Pederson. Robin Johnston is CTV's Head of Independent Production for Atlantic Canada. Bob Culbert is Vice President of CTV Documentaries and Susanne Boyce is President, CTV Programming and Chair of the CTV Media Group.

Tabitha's Journey is the latest in a series of titles that are part of
CTV's 2006/2007 Original Documentaries slate. Additional titles include
Music Rising; Double Identity; As Seen on TV: The K-Tel Story; Unsafe to Teach; Canadaville; Holiday in Paradise; Lost in Canada; Short Guys;
Suicide Travel Agency; The Secret World of Bridge; There's Something Out There and Unforgivable.
