Default question...

This is my first posting. I today just found out that my 18yr old son may have AVM. It is located in his upper mouth and on the inside of his upper lip. Since last year we thought he was having dental problems and found out about 7 mos ago it was possible AVM. The dental surgeon went in and tried to repair it and sealed up a hole in the bone area, but as of today it is back and worse. No fault of the dental surgeon. Has anyone ever delt with this kind of AVM. He has a full bleed attacks when he brushes his teeth.
thank you for any info that may be of help

Oh no! Poor guy.

I have no advice for you other than to go ask an expert, if you haven't already:

I do know that with AVM's, if the entire malformation is not removed (and I mean every last cell of it), they will come back.

Keep us posted!

Default Vm In Mouth

My husband is thirty nine and has always had a vm on the roof of his mouth, numerous dentists have stopped mid exam and asked him if he was hiv pos! He , dh, has numerous vm all over his body, currently going thru ringer of tests and procedures to determine what growth is in his chest. There were so many doctors and we asked them all the same ?'s, none of them have any help to offer, just the nature of the vm beast I am afraid. We too have a son named Michael and my poor little guy has hemangiomas as well, has had one removed twice from his back and has one on the tip of his nose( looks like a light bruise). He (Michael) also has one on the crown of his head that "went away" (?) when he was a baby. This is wierd and scary stuff! Good luck to you and your son, my prayers are with you.

I am 19 myself, and have an AVM in my mouth, I have had several dental problems with it.
My advice also is: Go see a specialist, if only for information, and maybe for treatment
AVM's can grow, so the sooner you know it. The better!

Good luck with it,
Kind regards
