Dr. Julie Prendiville is the incoming Chief of Pediatric Dermatology at Sidra Medicine.

Dr. Prendiville attended medical school at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Following postgraduate training in internal medicine and pediatrics, she underwent dermatology training in Dublin, London and Belfast and a pediatric dermatology fellowship at the Children’s Memorial Hospital/Northwestern University, Chicago.

Before joining Sidra, Dr. Prendiville was Head of the Division of Pediatric Dermatology at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada and Clinical Professor in Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia.

In addition to general pediatric dermatology, including atopic dermatitis and genetic skin disorders, her main area of interest is hemangiomas and vascular malformations. She is currently a member of the scientific committee of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies.

Dr. Prendiville has published numerous papers and book chapters in the field of pediatric dermatology. She has been an associate editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology from 2008 to 2018. She was the recipient of a teaching award from the University of British Columbia Department of Dermatology in 2014. She is a past president of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology.
