You’re invited to the Third Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser, hosted by Ashley and Adrienne Mortensen. This popular Fashion Show tradition honors Ashley, who pioneered her own hand-made clothing line – Wishlist by AM – while battling an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) all of her life.
In the last two years, hundreds attended the fashion show event and over $40,000 was raised for vascular birthmarks research. The clothes are amazing and the fashion show, music, great food and drinks make for a fun night to benefit a great cause and honor this brave young woman.
This year’s Fashion Show Fundraiser will be held at The Terrace in Paramus, New Jersey on November 21, 2019 from 6:30-10:30pm. Pieces featured in the fashion show will be for sale at the end of the event.
My name is Ashley Mortensen and I have been battling an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) all of my life. Through this life threatening condition, myself as well as others have felt the debilitating effects of this vascular disease. I personally have been through my own journey of profuse bleeding episodes resulting in hospitalizations and blood transfusions as well as becoming very disfigured throughout my journey.
I am 24 years old and have had 67 surgeries to date with more to come in the future. As of now this rare disease has no cure. Knowing that I could be battling against this for the rest of my life, I decided to take a passion of mine and develop a small business. I created Wishlist By AM in September of 2016. This is my clothing line fully designed, patterned, and sewn by myself, a fashion design graduate. I create styles to fit a wide range of shapes and ages, all made from hand selected fabrics.
To throw an event like this, we are looking for all the support we can get, as we predict an even bigger turnout this year. Please consider attending and/or donating a tricky tray basket or items that can be used to put together a basket. Many children and adults suffer through an AVM on a daily basis, and your gifts can help make a difference in their lives.
We kindly ask for baskets and donations to be provided by November 1, 2019. Please contact: email@example.com to donate a tricky tray basket or other item.
