VBF Launches 4th Annual Day of Awareness Walk/Run for Birthmarks Challenge

VBF is excited to announce that our 4th Annual Challenge – Walk/Run for Birthmarks – will be held on Friday, May 4th, 5:00pm, at the Crossings of Colonie (South Pavilion), Loudonville, NY. Last year’s event was a huge success with over 300 attendees. We are optimistic that we will succeed that total this year.

We are proud to announce that our 2012 Birthmark Champion is Chase Manny, a local boy whose parents sought help from VBF for his treatment.

Please join our 5k race, or 1 mile walk teams. You can register on-line by going to the links below. This event is going to be a time of great family fun. We are going to have a bouncy bounce, Tumbling Tykes, face painting, music by DJ KrazyKeith, food, and vascular birthmark “Experts” who will be on hand to answer questions for free about the diagnosis and treatment of hemangiomas and vascular malformations.

We are also having a “Kids Fun Run” for the children. And, don’t miss out on the free T-Shirts to the first 300 registrants. It’s only $15 per person, $10 per student or teams members with 5 or more, or $30 per family.

You can also create your own walk/run JOIN ME page. Click here to create a JOIN ME account and webpage for your own personal fundraiser for this event

We are hoping for at least 25 “birthmark” teams to walk/run in this year’s event and 10 JOIN ME individuals. If you or a loved one has or had a vascular birthmark, put a team together and join us or create a JOIN ME page for you so that you can invite your friends from all over the world to sponsor you in our walk/run event. Please contact Basia Joyce at if you have any questions regarding setting up your own sponsorship page. This is a great way for you to help us reach this year’s goal of $20,000.

The 5k race course is a sanctioned course and certificates will be presented to the standard race category winners. We will also be presenting a certificate to the largest “birthmark” team.

Bring your friends, family, office, club, and classmates. Everyone is welcome. As always, thank you for helping to make a difference for families affected by a vascular birthmark.
