Zeina Tannous, M.D.
Tannous received her medical degree and Dermatology residency training
at American University of Beirut (AUB). Subsequently, she joined Harvard
Medical School Dermatology training program where she completed a full
Dermatology residency. She also completed three fellowships at Harvard
in 1)Dermatopathology , 2) Mohs micrographic and dermatologic surgery
and 3) Lasers and cosmetic dermatology. Her Laser surgery fellowship
was under the supervision of Dr. Rox Anderson, a pioneer in treating
vascular birthmarks with lasers. Dr. Tannous is board-certified in Dermatology
and Dermatopathology in the United States
Dr. Tannous is the director of Mohs/Dermatologic Surgery at Boston VA Medical Center.
She is also on faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Tannous practices at MGH Dermatology Laser and Cosmetic Center, a world leader in laser surgery. Dr. Tannous treats a relatively complicated group of patients, including many with large port wine stains and infants with hemangiomas and other vascular birthmarks that have failed therapy elsewhere.
She has lectured extensively nationally and internationally on different topics in Dermatology. She has also authored numerous scholarly articles and has co-authored one textbook. She is a member of the Board of the International Society of Cosmetic and Laser Surgery as well as a member of many professional societies including Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Tannous' research interests include the application of lasers and light sources in the treatment of dermatologic conditions as well as non-invasive imaging of skin.
