Venous Malformation of my right hip that started to enlarge around the age
of 24. I had surgery on January 24, 2002 by a vascular surgeon who couldn’t
differentiate between tumor and tissue. The surgeon only removed 603 grams
of the tumor. After another 2.5 years, I found Dr. Hochman on the VBF
website. He referred to Dr. John McFadden, also in Charleston, who removed
the 2.8 kg mass within my vascular birthmark in a 6 hour operation. The
tumor was almost the size of a basketball.
