The Vascular Birthmarks Foundation would like to thank John and Jody Lee, organizers of the 2nd annual Purple Polka Dot 5k Walk/Run held on Sunday, August 13th, at the Stony Creek Metropark/Eastwood Beach, Shelby Twp, Michigan. The race was established by the Lees in honor of their daughter Meghana, who has a port wine stain vascular birthmark. The Purple Polka Dot Race (named for the dots that appear on the skin following a laser treatment) is an annual 5k Walk/Run, Family Fun Run and Virtual Run to benefit the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation. Jody is also a board member of the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation and we could not be prouder to have her as a part of our family. Jody created this fantastic event not only to raise money for VBF, but also to raise awareness about the need for the early diagnosis and the appropriate treatment for all vascular birthmarks
